10 Days in the Bible

10 DAYS IN THE BIBLE

LINKS:

INTRODUCTION

What:

As the calendar turns to start a new year, we all want to deepen our connection with God.  Truly the only ways to do that are through Bible study and prayer.  This challenge is for 10 days (January 1-10) to kickstart (or refresh) your Bible study!  Then you are encouraged to join with the world-wide Adventist Church in 10 Days of Prayer (January 10-19).  It is my prayer that both Bible study and prayer will be pillars of your spiritual journey in 2024!

How:

  • Take some time each day (you choose when) to read the selected chapter or Bible passage.
  • Before you read, pray for God’s direction and for a teachable heart.
  • Passages are short, so read it 2 or 3 times to get the flow of the passage.
  • Remember, Bible study is about getting better acquainted with God. (See some practical ideas on the next page)

Why:

Here are a few passages to inspire you to get into God’s Word!

Psalm 119:105 - Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

Psalm 119:11 - Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.

2 Timothy 3:16, 17 -

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Quote:

A revival of true godliness among us is the greatest and most urgent of all our needs. To seek this should be our first work. There must be earnest effort to obtain the blessing of the Lord, not because God is not willing to bestow His blessing upon us, but because we are unprepared to receive it. Our heavenly Father is more willing to give His Holy Spirit to them that ask Him than are earthly parents to give good gifts to their children. But it is our work, by confession, humiliation, repentance, and earnest prayer, to fulfill the conditions upon which God has promised to grant us His blessing.

A revival need be expected only in answer to prayer….

~ Ellen White, The Review and Herald, March 22, 1887.
